The first German rye whisky distillery was founded in 2004 and taken over in 2016 by Steffen Lohr, Sebastian Brack, and Bastian Heuser. The Stork Club distillery is located just 60 km south of Berlin, in the middle of a nature reserve. Locally grown German rye, the pure water of the nature reserve, and the prospecting to experience the pristine grains of Europe are the ingredients for one of Europe's most prized rye whiskeys. The combination of Pinot Noir rosé wine from the sun-drenched vineyards in Baden and Brandenburg rye with its sherry, dried fruit, and nutty notes results in a light and very enjoyable aperitif.
